Made for Two

Woodcutters Lodge has been created as an exclusive rural retreat for two adults.

Inspired by modern shepherds hut designs, the lodge contains a king size bed with cosy linens, a table for two, kitchenette for light meals and refreshments, and a full shower bathroom complete with organic, luxurious products.

All the Mod Con’s

Just because the lodge is partially off-grid (like the main house where we live), that doesn’t mean you should be without life’s luxuries during your stay. Heating is provided by underfloor heating, controlled by the thermostat within the lodge and in the bathroom we’ve added a heated towel rail so you can wrap yourself in a cosy soft and warm towel when you exit the large shower. Wifi is provided which allows you to access your streaming services via the TV situated at the end of the bed (perfect for lazy mornings in), and if you drive an electric car we have a charging point* onsite.

The kitchenette comes complete with two burner hob, microwave oven, toaster and kettle; perfect for knocking up a breakfast or light dinner if you don’t want to venture out to one of the local cafes.
We’ve ensured there is also plenty of tea, coffee and a little treat too, ideal if you’ve had a long journey.

Outside you’ll find a gas bbq and seating that looks over the fields, where wildlife is in abundance. Because of the location being next to an ancient woodland we don’t allow any uncontrolled flames, so smoking and candles are not permitted, for safety of the property and woods but we have provided battery powered lanterns for your use.

A Nature Lovers Paradise

On a clear night you can see thousands of stars so sit back and enjoy the dark skies and listen out for the owls; during the day look out for deer (Roe, Red, Chinese Water Deer and Muntjac), hare, pheasant, buzzards and kites amongst the many animals and birds that frequent the area. We’ve made sure there are binoculars in the lodge for use during your stay so you can get a good view of the nature around you.

If you’re interest lies in insects you’re in luck as Stacy, one of the owners, is a professional beekeeper and “bee experiences” can be booked to visit the honey bees elsewhere on the property, through sister company Sunnyfields Apiaries. Always on the lookout for different animals, insects and birds we often see a Purple Emperor butterfly and have many species of bumble and solitary bee on the property.

Dogs Welcome

If you’d like to bring along your dog when you stay you are welcome to for a small additional charge which covers the extra clean. We recommend that the space is only big enough for one medium or two smaller dogs.

The area is very dog friendly and as we have our own dogs too we can recommend places to visit with them. If you require a dog bed, bowl, crate etc during your stay just let us know.
